While I no longer post publically in my LJ, I now keep a blog which you are welcome to read, and you can even view the xml feed of it on your LJ friends page by adding [livejournal.com profile] lisybabesblog to your friends list.

I started it with the intention of trying to write something funny every day.

I failed.

But today, someone I don't know told me they find it hilarious. They clearly have little humour in their lives.

If you wish to comment on it, it might be better to do it on the blog itself, rather than on the syndicated feed, because I'm assuming when the entries go from the feed, that the LJ post relating to the entry goes into cyberspace with it.

Hey! I was directed to you by [livejournal.com profile] oakenguy who said you might have advice on which area of london a young tourist like myself might want to stay in for a night or two? I hear the "South bank" is fun? I'll be in London for a 3-day layover, I'm staying in a hotel the 1st night, but looking for a hostel for the next nights so I can find some people to hang out with... Any advice would be much appreciated! Thanks! :) -dd-

Camden is probably your best bet. There's lots of funky things to do around there (especially the market during the day), and loads of pubs and clubs. It's very well known as being quite a bohemian area.

The downside to Camden is it can seem a bit rough compared to most of London late at night. But then it's always busy 24 hours a day, so it's not too dangerous just because there are always loads of people around.

The South Bank is worth a visit because there's things like the NFT around there, and the London Eye. But, unless you've got tickets for shows (either TV recordings or shows at the Festival Hall etc.) then there's not that much to do. I also don't know of any hostels around there.

If you're here to go and see lots of plays, comedy, films etc then it might be worth looking for somewhere in the West End, and I'm sure there's hostels in that area.

Like I said, I'd recomend Camden, but, really, if you're staying anywhere in Zone 1 it's not going to take you long to get to the places you want to see.

After our exchange of comments on Pippa's journal, I decided to take a look at yours. I followed the link to your blog and I am currently engrossed! I just read about the twat stealing your blue badge - what a total fuckwit. I'd better warn my mum, cos I don't think it has occurred to her that people might do that, though in the years she has had it, no-one's bothered yet... then again the car is usually parked at my parents' farm so I suppose the twats don't go that far to get them!

Hope you don't mind me reading your blog. My journal is a bit of a misery at the moment, but I'll add you to my friends list in case you get bored and fancy a look!

Going to read more of your blog now.

Glad it entertained!

Have added you back, though my LJ is far less interesting to read.

Sorry for the delay - been out all day. Just went to remove the post and remove the member from the community, but I see the post has gone and their journal has been deleted.

Thanks for letting me know.

My name is Shannon and I have type 3 OI, too.
I hope you don't mind if I add your journal and the feed.
Even if you might be deleting this one soon.

Hi there :)

I just had a read of your blog and can relate to all of the infuriating-yet-make-for-amusing-anecdotes-situations! I was thinking of setting up a similar blog, chronicling the oh so frequent incidents of incompetence, being patronised and infuriated when disabled (and alive in general). Looks like you have it all covered though ha :)

Would have commented there but I don't have an account.

Anyhow, take care, keep up the good work :D
